Homecoming Weekend!

So this past weekend was Homecoming here at Gardner-Webb! I always love homecoming time here. It's pretty sad to me that it's my last one as an undergrad and that next year I'll be coming back as an alumni!
We were supposed to have the powderpuff game on Friday night but it got rained out. We were all pretty upset. But the game was postponed to Monday, so we weren't that bummed out! On Saturday the skies cleared of rain and it was a beautiful day for some football! I got to take pictures again so that was pretty exciting. I also got to take pictures during the crowning of the homecoming queen who just happened to be one of my really close friends! It was such a fun day and we all had a great time.

Homecoming Week!

It's homecoming week here at GW! It's always a really fun time of the year around here. It's starting to get cold finally so everyone is in the fall spirit! This past weekend we had a football game here and we won 47-21! It was a lot of fun. I actually got to go down on the field and take pictures of the game for the first time! I enjoyed it. There was a major difference being down there close to the action versus being up in the crowd. On Sunday we started our practices for the annual Powderpuff Game that is going to be on Friday night. I'm so excited about it! I always played in high school, and I never thought I'd get to play again but now I am getting to! The practices have been fun with all my friends and we all love just hanging out and being crazy together. But at the same time, we're taking it pretty serious, because we definitely want to win! I'm ready for the weekend to get here as soon as possible so all the fun can begin!

Fall Break Fun!

Well this has been a short week here at the Webb. We had fall break last weekend and on Monday and Tuesday, and can I say that it was very much needed! I got to go to Atlanta with some friends to stay the weekend and then I went home for a few days as well. We left Friday afternoon after classes for Atlanta. It wasn't that bad of a drive, just about 3 hours or so. I stayed at my friend's house. We hung out Friday night and then on Saturday we went into town to go to the Gardner-Webb vs. Georgia Tech football game! We almost won! It was the most exciting game I've seen in quite some time! We all thought we were going to witness history! Even though they didn't win we still had a great time and it pretty much felt like we won. We only lost by 3 points! After we went to the game we went into downtown Atlanta
and shopped and ate supper. I left Atlanta on Sunday and came home and just relaxed for a few days then headed back to school. The semester is certainly going by fast, which is exciting, but sad at the same time!

The Fair!

So this past weekend was pretty fun. Some of my friends and I went to the fair. Every year the fair comes to Cleveland County and a lot of Gardner-Webb students go. I didn't get to go last year so I made sure that I got to go my Senior year. I always look forward to the food and just walking around and seeing all the interesting people! They have fried oreos and snickers bars! I had never heard of such a thing before going to the fair but they sure are amazing! They have a huge ferris wheel that we rode and that's always a highlight too! The weekend is over now and classes have started back up. I've been pretty busy this week with studying for tests I have and also writing papers. It's the middle of the semester and assignments are starting to come due and mid-terms are coming up! It's pretty stressful, but I'm still finding time to hang out with friends and have a little fun!

Last night I went with some of my friends to the play that is going on here at Gardner-Webb. Our theater department is doing "The Crucible" as their fall play this year. I really enjoyed going and I thought it was a great representation of the story. The set was really cool and very well put together. They did a great job at making you feel like you weren't even in the theater. It almost felt like you were back in time in 1692 during the Salem Witch trials. During the play I recalled most of the story from having read it in high school. It was pretty cool seeing it come to life. I always like going to the plays here at Gardner-Webb, they always do a really great job

Family Weekend

This past weekend was really fun here at Gardner-Webb. It was family weekend! We also had Dawg Days on Saturday and I got to take pictures of everyone with our mascot and then I gave a tour and was on Student Panel. I like going to Dawg Days and meeting the prospective students. It's always nice to see new faces around here!

I always enjoy my dad coming and I know everyone else loves seeing their family as well. It seems like our families just dropped us off yesterday on move in day, and it's already almost October! On Saturday night we got to eat bar-b-que and chicken with our families before the football game and then everyone headed to the game! I usually sit in the Dawg Pound (the student section) at the game but this time I sat with my dad and my friend and her parents. It was a nice change and a different view for sure! When you sit in the Dawg Pound you're right in the action down in the front! But I ended up sitting up higher in the stands. It wasn't as loud, that was for sure!
